A few years ago she charged $100 for state filing only, then I never even got my refund - I followed up with the state, met with huge headaches trying to get it figured out, turns out she straight-up took my money and never filed. Did the same to my mother, who got a notice in the mail from the IRS about her not filing her taxes. Attempts to follow-up were met with her dodging phone calls and e-mails, or just reassuring “Oh it must be an error on their end, I’ll get it figured out!” and she’d continue dodging contact.
