They charged us $557 when we have no investment earnings, nor any other circumstance that might complicate taxes in any way whatsoever - 1040A with one dependent. Our taxes literally could not be simpler, quicker, or easier. I usually handle filing and it takes maybe 30 min tops with software - no handler.
