I waited too long and couldn't get in at my usual, and favorite place for help filing taxes, (Taxman of Shelton). I showed up with one W-2, one 1099, and one other form. It took less than a half hour and I was told the fee was over $600. I usually pay less than $100 at my favorite place. I elected to file late and pay the penalty instead of paying a crazy rate for a simple and quick service. It'll end up being around the same ammount to pay the penalty instead. I have no income and had to pay 596.00 to file with them. Ive never paid more than 240 in Port Orchard Walmart. Strange thing to me is my return was the exact amount I got charged for the guy preparing them which was 596.00 to the penny. I only needed him to copy one 1099!. Dissatisfied customer. I feel like I got took and wont be back!
It costs way to much for filing simple tax forms. Been going to them for years, next year going somewhere else. $ 500.00 down the drain. NOT HAPPY WITH THE COST
