I already share my experience. And I hope my input was received. I was not happy with Jackson Hewitt. And to all these people that used Jackson Hewitt and are giving them 5 stars and good reviews, I bet is because they have lots of dependents and are receiving a very sufficient amount of tax return back.. And probably paid the $189 flat rate that Jackson Hewitt was advertising. My personal experience, was not pleasant The tax Rep was nice, and that's all the good I have to say about Jackson Hewitt.
They were very attentive and answered all my questions and made the process fast and easy
Rip off!!! I had an idea that I owed taxes this year. I asked in advance how much the charge would be for filing and was not given a price. I have a simple 1040 form and I older dependents (one of whom just aged out). At the end of tax prep I owed, and was charged almost $400!!! I was given a discount code which brought the fee down to $135.
