My first time using Jackson Hewitt will be my last time. The tax preparer was friendly, but without me knowing, she tacked on a $50+ refund assist fee that allows Jackson Hewitt's fee to be paid out of my refund. I didn't ask for this nor did I approve it. I told the preparer I wanted it direct deposited and gave her my banking info. If I had been given the option, I would have paid the prep fee myself and gotten the whole refund.
