We had JGordon do quite a bit of work for us: watermaker rebuild, windlass repair, diesel heater install, and water heater replacement. First, while Marshall is very knowledgeable, he has hired junior techs to do the work, and we had to look over their shoulder for ALL of the work, having them redo parts of the installation that were poorly executed (wires run in odd places, leaking connections, etc). Dropped our generator off. Never called us with updates, always had to chase him down. It was always "we are working on it." After loosing a boating season with his run -a-round and me having to call again he said the generator was more damaged than he thought. Told him I did not want to proceed with the repair and he never responded to me again and still has my generator.
These guys are great. Reportedly been around since WWII and the quality of work and customer service reflects the long history.
This is what happened ...my wife and I are headed south from CT...my boat had a leaky rudder stuffing box...these guys came right down and fixed my problem...when you are away from your home port and in another state and need help....these guys helped when others wouldn't....can't do better than that.
J Gordon helped me get my generator back to 100%. Knowing how busy they can get for service, I decided to troubleshot my issue. I called and with the help of a tech, pulled my capacitors and had them test them. Alice let me know they had one in stock to replace the defective one. I am happy to know that J Gordon is only an hour away
