Great place to visit.
The crew that ran the ferry were great. They were specific with their instructions for passenger safety. The gave us information about the rules of the island and horses.
Easy, short and fun ride to Shackleford Island. Service to and from was prompt and on time (every 30 mins.) and the crew was a joy to converse with and learn a few things about the area.
I would HIGHLY recommend this ferry service. We originally booked with a competitor and they cancelled the day prior to our tour. We took this ferry (for much cheaper too!) to Shoal island and got to see wild horses on the island. On the way our captain stopped and let us see dolphins. They have a crazy amount of beautiful whole shells along the shore line. Bring a bag to collect some! You do have the option to go to carrot island instead but know that is a very rugged island and you need hiking attire and closed toe footwar... read more
