We rented from Island cars for our roadtrip in Kauai. They offer the best prices on the island. They let us upgrade our car since the car we initially booked did not have all the features we wanted. The place is a short ride from the airport which makes it convenient for pickup and drop off. The staff are friendly.
We are frequent travelers to Kauai and Island cars is exactly what we need: a professional, local operation with "island style" rental cars at better rates than big corporate companies. We like that the cars have character, some bumps scratches. The owners are very kind and helpful! We trust them and recommend Island Cars!
Great company. They picked us up near the cruise ship dock, brought us to their office, paperwork was quick. They supplied a map so we could find the green sea turtles we wanted to see. Car was great. Minivan with 90K+ miles drove great, rode great, acted like a car with 10K miles. They really take good care of their cars. Drove us back to the cruise ship dock in plenty of time before we had to be on board.
Everything was as wonderful as promised. They picked us up at the Kauai airport two minutes after we collected our bags. Our Subaru was ready and clean. They went out of their way to find a phone charger for me because the one I had didn't work with the jacks in the car. When it was time to return, they happily drove us back to the airport. Everyone was kind, courteous, helpful, and friendly. We will gladly rent from Island Cars again.
