I wanted to share my experience with Iowa City rehab and health care. My dad was placed here by the university of iowa hospital, and at first wasn't so sure of the place. The building is old , and kind of far from where I lived, so visited wasn't going to be easy. So I was going to try to move him, but then I met the staff, they were amazing, very caring wonderful people ❤️ They took the time to get to know my dad, and made sure he had everything he needed and wanted. Several years back, my mom was sent here temporarily as she was being released from the hospital. They were the only place that was preauthorization for her meds ball. I was not impressed in the least. Total chaos with patients and staff yelling at each other!!! Some of the staff looked like meth addicts ... couldn't stand still for a minute. DON'T SEND ANYONE YOU LOVE TO THIS HELL HOLE.!!!! If I could give this place any lower rating I would. I have not heard from my friend for 3 weeks, so I called the U of I Hospital and he was not there' I just spent 15 minuets calling the so called ( Iowa City Rehab and Health Care Center) no answer for the first 3 times then I was connected to some lady and she said she would see about him and then the line went dead. I can’t ever get anyone to answer the phone so that I can talk to my brother.
I found this place to be in disrepair old unupdated sadly taken care of I feel bad for my friend that has to be in there. 1970 Rest home bad.
