We received irs notice CP5071 about verifying our identity. We tried to get it done on line not result. the We tried to call and we were hung up on. Then tried to call to make an appointment to go in person and we were put on hold thenhumg up on. so I can't even get an appointment. I am so very put out with the whole thing. I don't know what to do now.
I have been trying to get an appointment since May 2026. I have been advised by a machine to call back later each time. Today is August 10, 2026.
If I could leave 0 stars, I would because who the hell likes the IRS
Oh no, it's August and they still haven't sent my refund. Are they going to pay me extra? Well, if you owe them money, they charge a penalty. What a bad experience—and now they say there are another 60 days to wait. What should I do?
