As a legal service that brands itself as an inclusive provider of legal help to the LGBTQ+ community, ICLC is failing to meet that standard. In my experience - and reflected in other reviews - the Centre appears increasingly disconnected from the urgent legal needs of queer individuals who are not trans identifying. Feeling very disappointed, this isn't an inclusive service from whoever is on phone calls on Fridays. I requested to access the trans and gender diverse legal services. The guy kept calling me mam and we hadn't even got into the intake form yet, I was in tears that I couldn't finish the call and went elsewhere for legal services. I feel bad for anyone LGBTQ younger than me trying to access this line. Please do better and train your admin phone staff members. They happily took my details, gave me an appointment day and time I waited 2 weeks for. On the day I'm then informed there was no appointment made, and they weren't taking on new clients. Never received any apology or explanation beyond citing circumstances beyond their control. Lamentable behaviour. If you're in The Industry, I wouldn't try this place.
