In my experience they only help people who have broken the law and they have zero interest in helping victims, especially of serious things like sexual assault. How you can confidently answer a call and say sorry can’t help you to someone in such a serious situation blows my mind. Not even a list of paid commercial lawyers to contact instead of anything was provided. As a legal service that brands itself as an inclusive provider of legal help to the LGBTQ+ community, ICLC is failing to meet that standard. In my experience - and reflected in other reviews - the Centre appears increasingly disconnected from the urgent legal needs of queer individuals who are not trans identifying.
