Do not take your loved ones here! Nurses and Aides physically, verbally, and mentally abused my father in a couple of months time. He is a VETERAN and has aggressive tremors in his arms/hands. He cannot care for himself at all, nor can he protect himself from abusers. There was an investigation done for his abuse and the aide was not allowed back into his room. Do not let loved ones go here. Three mos I have gone w/o my sleep med or anxiety meds. Was told they, as a result of defacto practice do not prescribe Ambien, no real reason given, nor was I offered alternative. A policy they go by without ever having a problem receiving it in hospital, or at home. Cold turkey, discontinued anxiety medication, told I wasn't taking it at hospital, nor at home. 3 months later, I was given a dose 1/4 the dose I've been on for 2 yrs. I was recently released from Advanced Specialty Hospitals of Toledo Ohio after spending 25 days in their care. I have been in a number of nursing homes and hospitals over my 87 years but none of them came close to giving me the excellent care to the point of making me feel like I was a part of their family . I was recently released from Advanced Specialty Hospitals of Toledo Ohio after spending 25 days in their care. I have been in a number of nursing homes and hospitals over my 87 years but none of them came close to giving me the excellent care to the point of making me feel like I was a part of their family . Bridgeport Healthcare Center in Portsmouth Ohio could be a decent place. I don't think the owners of Communicare actually is aware of the poor management and non professional work ethics that this team conveys. The communication between frontline staff and senior management is very poor. They have a 76% turn over rate in the last 3 years when the national average is 56%. As a former employee, I do not recommend this facility to a potential resident nor would I seek employment here. The only positive aspect of this facility is the Therapy Department.

Awesome facility and people! Advanced Specialty Hospital did a wonderful job with our Son. He was there for nearly 3 weeks and received excellent attention on all his medical issues, wound care, and PT, and all the nurses, specialists, and aids were experienced and caring and exceeded our expectations. Even the Administration and staff were great! I would most certainly recommend Advanced Specialty Hospital of Toledo

My friend ended up in the hospital after his wife and me did a window visit. July 20, 2020. The hospital said he had boiling bed sores. Cradle cap. Sepsis. Tested positive for Covid. He ended up going to hospice and passing away 4 days later. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO MY ENEMY.. Before this happened. Food was terrible. They didn't clean patients after they ate. My friend had pooped in his diaper and would ask for help. Maybe 45 minutes to an hr.. There was only one person that could pick up or really move patients w... read more
