This has been our family bank for over 25 years and the customer experience is stellar! Tellers are friendly, helpful and service is professional. Security is taken very seriously and threats have been responded to extremely fast. I would recommend highly to any one needing a dependable bank! (Note: do not work at the bank, or any bank, nor does anyone I know-we haven't been paid by this bank yo say these things either!)
I've been with this bank since 2007, it's a really great bank, no minimum balance free checking, no credit check, that's everything I needed, for a simple basic bank. they always helped me get established credit when I didn't have any. they are just wonderful. one bad thing well it's not bad but it was inconvenient but they froozed my card because a charge was made to my account they didn't recognize and I didn't know til I went to make a purchase at a store..sooo embarrassing.. The Manager and Tellers have treated my newly hired daughter as if they are bothered by having to train her. My daughter has stated to me that the other tellers are reluctant to assist her when she asks for help. After one weeks training and three weeks on the job she has been audited by the Manager and the mistake was found to be made by the Teller that was supposed to be shadowing and/or training my daughter. These guys are great. The staff remembers you by name and has no problem creating or carrying on a conversation while remaining to be efficient. If you show up at the last minute before closing, they don't complain or make faces and are still happy to help. They do great work for the community and are very creative when it comes to decorating for the holidays.

I have recently had a HORRIBLE experience with this bank. They have been reporting 30 day late on my credit report on-going for a few years due to late charges because I was NEVER 30 days late with the payment. I was notified yesterday by a Rozonda Curry that Independent bank has continuously reporting my account 30 days past due because of late charges.
