Absolutely horrible customer service and their online service system needs considerable improvement. Used to be able to get ahold of a live person, now its next to impossible! Hours on hold unable to contact a live agent. Their online system needs updated or just replaced with something that works. 1099R tax documents are late Agin this year and they omitted the surviving spouse tax documents so I cannot file my taxes yet. they claim April but who knows as you cannot get ahold of a live person. Called multiple times and get cut off after 90 minutes. They had a database change in Mach and now the CSR's cannot fix your issue they have to email finance and hope some helps them on the issue. service reps said that there are over 400 people with the same issue, but they cannot give out a manager's number and they never follow-up with a callback. I am on hold waiting for assistance. i have been on HOLD for two (2) hours and twelve minutes. This isn't a rare occurrence but the normal for IMRF. While waiting, I thought let me try the website--oh boy another waste of time. Tried "send a secure message" only to be redirected. The actual contact box never appeared. This has to be the worst customer service entity I have ever encountered. Something needs to be done with actually answering calls and having a website that is easy to navigate sadly this is not the case.
Who is going to resolve this issue! The verification code arrives an hour after it's requested and can't be used because it's expired. What is happening? Members should be able to access their account this is unacceptable.
