Staff at this store do not know the laws about bag checks! So I will post the law here which is found on the NSW Government website: *Store personnel are only allowed to look in your bag. They are NOT ALLOWED to touch the contents inside. However, if you are asked to remove an object in your bag so they can see inside properly, you are expected to cooperate. *All bags can be checked, however, SMALL HANDBAGS (the size of A4 paper or smaller) SHOULD NOT BE CHECKED unless the retailer is certain they contain goods from that sho... read more
Ridiculous bag check policy. Two weeks in a row now, just trying to quickly purchase some staples (bread/milk) with my baby and toddler after his sport class. After paying I have had to juggle the groceries, pull my baby bags out of the pram and open them up to the cashier for checking, re-pack my pram, all before the next customer can pay for their items.
