Ever since the new management came in this place seems more like one of those fake shops you get in a nuclear testing site. Nothing really on the shelves, just enough to make you think you're in a real town.
This store is not up to IGA standards and the IGA websites lists it as permanently closed. Assume is privately owned and still trading under IGA banner and is being run into the ground. Empty shelves, open and closed at random times, produce not fresh and staff unable to answer questions about what is going on. Sad loss of an important part of the community.
The place looks abandoned. Most of the shelves are empty, and many of the products appear to be well past their expiry date. I bought a packet of Tim Tams, only to realize when I got home that they had expired back in January. At this point, I don’t even think it’s worth going back to try to exchange them, as I’m not confident I’d find a fresh one. Definitely a disappointing experience.
It’s been absolutely appalling since the new management took over. They’re out of stock constantly and staff lack restocking information. This never happened with the previous owners.
They have a really good supply of fresh baked goods. The pies are very good. Very casual shopping. Next door as a post office.
