Was unhappy with rude customer service and high mortgage rates at local (Boyne City) 5th/3rd bank several years ago. Entered cold to the local Huntington Bank. Was impressed from the start. Met several staff, including Julie G. and finanancial planner Kim Phelps. I have a no cost everyday checking account. Have great mortgage options. My retirement accounts were moved from prior employer Fidelity accounts to Huntington offered investment options. I moved to Boyne City, MI from the metro Detroit area at the same time Huntington Bank bought out the FMB Banks that were in northern Michigan. I was pleased that I would not have to switch banks! At first there were a few glitches with my account, but problems were resolved to my satisfaction. The staff knows me when I walk in or drive thru and always uses my name, but that could be the "small town" thing too.
