About this business

Whether you just want to grab a quick drink after work or spend a few hours belting out your favorite tracks with your group, Hula Hula gives you just what you require. It may seem odd to discover this tropical paradise among the architectural marvels that line the streets of Queen Anne, but the welcoming atmosphere ensures that the transition is rather quick. Apart from the classic Mai Tai, the Painkiller, Bangkok Kinamona and Volcano Bowl are concoctions you have to sample. If, after downing all those delicious drinks you ... read more

OK bar, not much atmoshpere, bad service We went hoping for a tiki bar, and were quite disappointed. It's a nice enough bar, but certainly not tiki in the classic sense. It's very industrial with a few flamingos strewn about. The service was terrible despite it being pretty empty when we got there. The drinks were tolerable, but neither interesting nor particularly tiki. Not a place I'd go again unless there was an event.

Nice place, expensive drinks – I went 6/06/09 and got a double rum and coke and asked for house rum. Got my drink about 15 minutes later and was asked for 10.50. While the rum was far superior to any house rum I have ever had, it was also the second most expensive rum and coke I have ever had. If I had been flush with cash, and in the mood to spend it, I think I would have enjoyed myself a lot more.

Hula Hula – I go to this bar quite often, once sometimes twice a week. One particular bartender sort of takes away from the experience.... she's good looking, a great singer (she partakes in karaoke) but customer service is definitely not her forte. When a customer ordered 4 kamikazes, she replied, "No" and asked him if he was really ordering that from her (seriously). I have heard of the rockstar bartender persona and have worked with more than a few people who fit the bill. But the fact is, she is a bartender. When someone... read more

My little Oasis – I recently attended a party with a group of my friends there. We couldn't have been treated better, our server was very attentive, drinks were made with the right balance and our food ranged from a "grilled flatbread" to our Kahlua Pork sandwich, to finally the first time I've snacked on Plantain chips. YUMMY! Their Happy hour is very reasonable, $3 drinks and $4 dollar appetizers. I'd recommend their Mai Tai since they are a tiki bar (was delicious actually), The Chi Chi, and my last one was the infamous V... read more

The Best Mai Tais and Decor – I love this place. Drinking Mai Tais and sitting on the chaise lounges while looking at the Black Velvet Mural and playing our favorite music on the Jukebox. Does life get better than that? Hula Hula puts Trader Vics to shame. It is much more kitchy and much less corporate. I want to take a pufferfish lamp home with me.

Great Hideout! – I was with some friends and walked by a few times before seeing they were open. I was impressed with the decor, the staff was familiar to me and it just felt right. I has some pupu's, was crazy about some, some I could do without. I think it has alot of potential, lots of space to hideway with friends and will definitely keep going back for the great cocktails. My service was fine, friendly, casual and good to see something not trying to be Uban Chic..... Recommends *Ahi Tuna* *Pork Sandwich* *Hula steak rol... read more

A South Seas paradise even on the rainiest days at this retro-kitsch tiki bar from the owners of Tini Bigs. – In Short Don Ho would definitely feel welcome in this kitsch-drenched lounge, which offers all the requisite elements of a good Polynesian bar: Puffer fish lamps, thatched grass huts, bamboo accents, beach loungers doubling as benches and plenty of wooden tiki god statues. Drinkers can go traditional (think mai tais) or pick a contemporary cocktail. Pairs will dig the Volcano Bowl, a lava red concoction that easily s... read more
