This is the most backwards and difficult financial institution I have ever encountered. My father worked for Hughes back when Howard Hughes owned the company. He's been a member for decades. Now that he's in his 80s, in a nursing home, blind and unable to manage his affairs they refuse to allow me, his daughter and Attorney-in-fact with a valid POA which I've sent to them and they acknowledge, to allow me any online access to his accounts. I am so disappointed in their customer service. I traded in my car and now their harassing me because they haven't received payoff (sent by mail). They keep threatening and me have locked my accounts including my minor sons account. I have been spoken to as though I'm a child and insignificant. Also their checking plus is bs it really doesn't give you an extra benefits and you have to pay for it. To top it all off they have been charging me late fees for an account that has been closed for 6 months. Though they did finally c... read more
26-days and this Credit Union will still not release over $150,000 in funds to the account owner! It has been provided with all the documentation that it requested, it promised to act, but now Hughes CU hides behind a lawyer in California that stands mute. This is a deplorable situation that has left the account owner stranded without her money. Don't let this happen to you.
Customer service here is awful. Sarah, in particular, has abdicated her assurances to transfer the funds needed to purchase a home after money was deposited with Hughes from a prior sale of a home. In several weeks, no one at this credit union has bothered to respond to calls and letters. Even the Credit Union President Robert Swick and his Executive Assistant, Angela Grijalva. No stars. Lose your member ID, no one in this organization can help retrieve it. Just trying to make a simple payment on my car loan. This is akin to brain surgery for this organization. AVOID doing business with this organization Zero stars.
