Just came to close an account. I came twice before to try to release an account from dormancy. It took 2 visits and a phone call and submitting the paperwork twice to get it released a month later. This was my final visit to release myself from HSBC after closing their retail business. The bank could no longer accommodate me.
They don't answer the phone
Absolutely agree with the previous reviewer. I walked in today with some questions about banking with HSBC and becoming a new customer. The front desk lady apparently serves HSBC as a business repellant. I walked out more confused than before I walked in. HSBC is not interested in growing their business.
If you can use a different bank, do it. HSBC doesn’t want to do business with you anymore and their quality of service reflects that. Use a bank that actually wants your business.
