Update: Two months later and we have not received any legitimate help from H&R Block. Unfortunately the Chatham Office appears to be a franchise with nobody accountable for customer relations. They are also unwilling to divulge an email address where one can put concerns in writing short of having to type out and mail a registered letter (which unfortunately is the next step). This is the most incompetent professional services organization I have ever had the misfortune to be associated with. If you have anything other than the simplest tax return, you should avoid this office at all costs. In 2022, my recently widowed mother brought her taxes to this office and was assigned a novice preparer. Her return was moderately complex, with extensive capital gains and dividends statements as a result of rebalancing her portfolio after dad's death.
