I visited H&R Block on Monday to drop off documents for a late 2024 filing. Shortly after leaving, I received a call stating they could not proceed without full EINs for every employer listed (multiple W-2s/1099s). I asked about alternative filing methods, including mailing, but was told they could only use their software. After waiting 2 days, I was informed they could not file my return at all. But do not try to call H&R Block. Their telephone system and advice you can get from the computerized voice is zilch. Just drive around All day and look for an office – with real live humans in it. You certainly won’t be able to talk with a human when you call their number.
