Took main street h&r block two weeks to get my taxes done after they told me it would be a couple days and gave me a price the day I dropped my info off, I got a call saying that it was all ready to pick up, drove 30 minutes to go sign and pay, when I got there they asked me to pay almost double what I was quoted and told me I'll have to come back after a few days because their manager was in a conference call. Terrible service, no call when the "tax pro" was finished with our taxes. Multiple issues at the desk because the worker had no clue what was going on and nobody could help him. We had to call again in 2 weeks to get our tax assessment actually sent to the CRA because they didnt send it when we originally paid at the desk for some reason. When it was finally sent to the CRA there are now issues with CRA saying H&R Block already gave us an instant return which they didn't and said we weren't eligible at the desk. My son went to file his first time taxes at main street, poor boy his returns were 277 dollars.These people went ahead and charged him 158 dollars for the services..ridiculous! Even more ridiculous, they sent him a cheque worth 97dollars!!! Why would they do this ,why write him a cheque yet he paid even more for the services? He should have gotten a direct deposit from CRA . They are closed ,but I made a call to the one branch open at 2 nations and a lady told me they noticed he was overcharged and they would send him anothe... read more
