I was happy with H & R Block for two years. Then, for year 3 their fee increased by 85 percent. This was huge to me. Despite the pledge that there would be no surprises, my tax preparer never said a word up front about the increased fee. I expected some increase, perhaps 5 or 10 percent, but I will never go back.
Dropped off in March due to vacation, no communication, taxes were not done until deadline, had to reach out to corporate-who lied reimbursement, call backs, never go here ,Hand R block will not have your back- a year later I got a call to pick up last years taxes, now 2025,,drive there, they said sorry we must have shred them,,,, 23 hours later they called to ask if they could work something out,I called back, they had no idea who sent that, what do to, or where to refer me in the company...wow. They overcharged greatly.
They wanted to charge my wife and I 400$ to do a simple tax return this year! That’s absurd!
