I went to file taxes at H and R Block and had a great experience working with Kanchan. She was very helpful and explained my taxes very thoroughly. I will make sure to see her again next year.

Last year I went to H&R Block for the first time. It'll be my last too. I am employed part time and I work for myself part time (first year), nothing big. Basic as it comes! I nearly croaked when the lady told me I had to pay $800!!! $400.00 for each form, T4 and T1. When she saw the look on my face she said, "let me try to put it on one form". (T1) I still ended up paying $400.00 which I was pissed about. Being a casual worker, how was I supposed to know. Expensive lesson! Never again!
This was the worst experience I have ever had. I will never use their service again. My appointment was booked for 10:00 a.m. Not one employee showed up until 10:10 after I had been standing out in the rain for 20 minutes waiting. I was freezing and not one of them even apologized. In the end, I had anticipated a professional could assist me with my taxes because they are more knowledgeable than me. However, in the end I paid $160 to H&R Block for a calculation I had come up with on my own. Hugely unhelpful.
