We went to H&R Block for our 2022 taxes, where Bonnie Thomas was our tax preparer. During our visit, she had her granddaughter sleeping on the floor under her desk. It took Bonnie a month to complete our taxes, and we were overcharged $1,027 in tax preparation fees. In December 2024, we learned from the IRS that Bonnie mishandled our taxes and never filed them, resulting in late fees and penalties on our state and federal taxes. I've used this H&R Block for 5 years and 4 out of 5 years has went perfect. But, they made a critical error when filing my state tax. They did made a Amendment and told me not to send out unless I get a letter through the Ohio State taxation. Well I got a letter all right !!$590 plus penalties!!! When I suppose to get a refund back in the amendment. And when I confronted them... they told me it was my problem that I need to solve the issue. While I enjoyed the convenience and the Rep I worked with. I was shocked at the cost. I will have to find a new place to file my taxes as it's just not worth the price.
Solid help, a breath of fresh air after dealing with Turbo Tax the last many years. The tax pro I worked with has given me a plan for combating some revelatory issues and left me feeling far less anxious about my returns than I ever was with TT.
