I did my taxes here twice because of a recommendation to do it with a Spanish-speaking tax expert, María Galle. The first time went well. The second year, I started receiving notifications from IRS Michigan that the form was wrongly calculated and that I owed the state more than $500. I went to the H&R Block in Arborland where I was greeted by an amazing receptionist Tamika. She went above and beyond by making copies for me, sorted out my forms for me and placed each of my returns in addressed envelopes. I was having a rough day and her kindness and going the extra mile turned my day around. Thank you again
EDIT: Tax preparer calculated our tax burden at over 10X our actual burden. Would not show us their work until we paid for the service, including a "peace of mind" add-on we didn't request. We saw multiple major errors and asked for a refund. We were not given a full refund. After going home, we did our taxes ourselves.
I’m not one to complain but this by far is one of the worst experiences I have had in a while! I have been coming to this office for over 4 years to do my taxes and have had no issues. My income has been fairly the same for many years so I had an idea on how much I would be owing (1099 contractor). I send in all my paperwork online to the same tax professional I have been using for years.
