I am writing to say that I have been an H&R Block client for over a decade at Marlborough Mall Calgary location. Luz Mead, my tax preparer was always phenomenal with helping me on my tax return everybyear. It was always a feeling like I’m visiting my sister every time I meet her in person to do my tax return. I recently visited the Port Hawkesbury H&R Block office for guidance as the Executor of my aunt’s estate. I had planned to file what I thought was a simple individual return, not realizing that a trust return was also required. The preparers were incredibly knowledgeable and patient, answering all my questions and clearly explaining why the trust return was necessary. I left feeling relieved and confident that everything was being handled properly. Their expertise was well worth the $148.
Denai filed our 2025 taxes today. She is thorough and efficient. We really appreciated her help with sorting out our 2024 return when a colleague of hers made errors. Denai is very pleasant and professional.
I had booked an appointment to do my deceased mothers taxes. But I couldn't get them done when I arrived so I got my own personal taxes done so I wasn't wasting anyone's precious time. I'm Low income on AISH, I was told by everyone HR Block charges Low income around $68. I normally get my taxes done for free, because I live below the poverty line. I do not recommend their services. They are expensive and unreliable. We paid a significant amount of money expecting professional assistance, but they provided incorrect information, which led us to receive a fine of $2,200. This was a very frustrating and costly experience. Definitely not worth the price
I do not recommend H&R block service to anyone. This was my first time filing for Tax through this office. No advance notice was given about the fees for filing , they charged $150 for 2 same companyT4 then tells me the price the high because I came to them in the month of April. I met Hakim and he said its our H&R franchise office that decides the price and we have no control over this. Avoid HR Block for stress free with Peace of Mind . Dont waste your time for appointment they can help with basic 1+1 = 3 accounting
