Visited the Orillia branch earlier this year to have our taxes prepared...big mistake! The woman who 'helped' us kept complaining about the new computer system while stressing to us how knowledgeable she was. She had to ask for help many times with our return even though she kept patting herself on the back about her skills. To make a long story short, we've now had all credits she assured us we were entitled to taken back from us and the office is closed. This is what I experienced with H&R Block in Orillia, Ontario, as well as calling their 1-800 customer service number. On March 26, 2025 I called the Orillia office to book an appointment to bring my taxes in. I was informed that they were no longer booking any appointments, that they were only allowing people to drop off their taxes to be done at a later date. Hand R block is the worst, I took my taxes in on April 24th I told them I wanted to pay with my refund, which is an opportunity for not paying up front, it is now June and H&R is holding my taxes for ransom, I had to call CRA identity theft and was told they can't do that, and I was worried because they didn't file them yet, that i wouldn't get the Trillium payment and so forth, CRA said not to worry she noted what they did to me so i wouldn't miss out on those extra pays ,she suggested not to use H And R ever again, im tak... read more

I have done my taxes with H&R for 10 years I recently had them done and was told I didnt owe the goverment any money. I payed my bill and off I went, only to recieve a letter from the CRA saying I owe just over $2000. I went back to H&R to find out what happened for them to take zero accountability for giving me false information. I was told it "could have been worse" and "We were rally busy" and "you could lean how to do them yourself" ... Too busy to do a good job but not to busy to charge me for a job not very well done. ... read more
