I scheduled a tax preparation and planning appointment with H&R Block several weeks in advance since I needed guidance on both filing and international investment matters. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. We had our taxes done by Hema Wadhwa and during the review I questioned why we were being taxed on 529 paid directly to university for tuition. She said it was taxable. I verified by google search at home that it was not taxable. She filed an amendment to get us back around $500 of taxes. I asked her then for a refund of our original tax fee as they were done incorrectly. She put us off. I called several times but could not connect with her supervisor.
