Do NOT take your taxes to Deborah Smith Carlson. I took mine there and after a week of not hearing any updates, I emailed and my ex called. No response. I sent another email 3 weeks after delivering all documents and again, no response. Ultimately went with a CPA recommended by a neighbor. Truly unbelievable how unprofessional grown adults in professional jobs can be.
Don't waste your time. We received an extension and are currently waiting on our third appointment to complete our taxes. The second appointment we had for 11 am - we showed up and were told to come back in an hour - finally after 2.5 hours of our appointment we decided to come back another time since no progress was being made. If you can't honor your customer's appointment time, perhaps call them before they get in the car and drive over? Your customers have lives and schedules just like your tax professionals. This is a follow up to my review below, I know it looks like HR Block cared about resolving our issue but this could not be further from the truth. The corporate office has been lying to us and to this date has not resolved anything and we are still out our entire return. We have used H & R block for years when we lived in NJ but NEVER will again. We did our taxes in July 2024 on a legal extension. First mistake was their tax “professional”, put our banking information into the system wrong. I caught it and reported the error when I was reviewing it but she had already filed our taxes. H&R Block told us this information could be amended and it will not affect us getting our return, but their might be a moderate delay but we’ll get our refund.
