The online software is pretty good and easy to use. But they gave incorrect information on how to enter 529 contributions, telling me to add it as income - in other words they mistook my contribution for a distribution, causing me to overpay in taxes $1400 over two years. H&R Block in SLC tax professional reviewed and approved my Fed taxes in March 2024. I paid all the H&R Block fees and the tax penalty they calculated before the deadline of 4/15/24. They incorrectly calculated my tax penalty and I just received a $520 invoice from the IRS. I contacted the Tax Professional (Kelly) and she told me there is NOTHING they can do — just pay the additional bill. I was very impressed with responsiveness of the office staff and tax preparer Kathleen Gillman. She is knowledgable and easy to work with, making taxes a safe and comfortable experience for me. She navigated all the changes of my accessing pension and starting a small business with changes, deductions and credits. She even helped with my solar panel credits. Yes this is my second year in a row, and in 2025, I will return to the Millcreek HnR Block office.
