I chose to try H&R Block this year with the new tax on tips stipulation being in affect. I just wanted to make sure my taxes were done accurately. It ended up costing me $255 for basic taxes which is insane. But what’s more insane is the fact that I was accused of making more money than reported on my W-2. You should not tell a client, regardless of when they brought their tax forms in, that you will complete their taxes if you are unable to do so in a timely manner. And if you do tell them it will be completed, but circumstances change and that is no longer the case, you should call them and tell them. Things happen, but miscommunication is unacceptable.
