I told the H&R tax preparer that we have union dues to be used for deducting. It was also on our W-2 papers for both my wife and I. He never used this info. Even after we told him, wrote a note, and being on our W-2s. He did an amendment after his error. We never got our money back from the state. So, we paid extra for the error, on top of the outlandish price that was charged!

I feel robbed. Without my permission in an attempt to find a payment option, they used my refund to cover the costs of their services after we discovered they can only take two forms of payment per transaction. When I explained that's not what I wanted to do, I was essentially told well it's gone, there's nothing else we can do about it. I would've been more than happy to use a credit & a debit card to cover to costs to ensure my refund was preserved as opposed to giving it to them for their services without my permission.
