My experience with H&R Block involves three tax professionals in two states (FL & CA - see my other reviews) who damn near ruined my life. H&R's advisors incorrectly guided me through filing my state + federal tax return, which has led to my state tax refund having been held for 14 weeks and counting.
I wish I could give 0 stars. I took my 75 year old dad to get his rent rebate taxes done. After a month he called the IRS to find out the preparer did something wrong. Had to go back to H&R Block to get it fixed. Then waited a month, called the IRS and it's still not right. He was told exactly what they needed and an email address to send it to. On March 22, I was overcharged by H&R Block when they upgraded me to a product that I did not use or need. I immediately contacted H&R Block. A representative apologized and instructed me on how to get a refund on the unused product. After many attempts between April 11 - 18 at resolving the issue, H&R Block again affirmed that they did indeed charge me for an unused product. But they would not issue a refund, and also have no way to issue a refund. H&R Block knowingly and openly overcharges, which I have to believe is unlaw... read more
