Paid h&r block to file my taxes. Due to irs backlog I was not able to check the status of my refund. Finally after reaching someone with the irs it was discovered that h&r block actually never filed my taxes but took payment to do so. This mistake is costing me almost $4,000 + damages and interest. The store manager as well as the district manager refuse to honor the service guarantee and are telling me it's my fault that it wasn't filed although I have a receipt that states it was filed, and filed electronically. Quoted an amount for taxes, then when it came time to pay they charged several hundreds of dollars over what they quoted and wouldn’t honor a promotional because of “the expiration date” even though the it wouldn't expire until next year. Terrible dishonest practice, avoid at all costs.
I had a terrible experience with H&R Block. I filed my tax return and applied for an ITIN with them three months ago, and I still haven't received ITIN or tax return. When I called the IRS, they informed me that my tax return was never filed. This level of service is completely unacceptable. I trusted H&R Block to handle my tax matters professionally, but they failed miserably. I do not recommend their services to anyone.
