This hospital completely ignores patients’ right to express or request care preferences based on religious beliefs, cultural comfort, or trauma history, especially for mothers during childbirth. There should be policies in practice promoting cultural sensitivity or gender-sensitive care. It’s disappointing to see such a lack of respect for diversity and patient dignity.

Dedicated, diligent, kind, expert, hard working staff. I’d only used A&E before where for any hospital times are unpredictable. Now I’ve stayed as a patient I can attest to all the other measures in other departments and I am very grateful to have this hospital in Ottawa.

I visited Hôpital Montfort in Ottawa, and it’s one of the most welcoming and well-run hospitals in the city. It’s a fully bilingual facility, so you’ll hear both French and English spoken everywhere, which gives it a unique and inclusive atmosphere. The hospital is bright, modern, and spotless, with a layout that’s easy to navigate. The staff are excellent — professional, friendly, and genuinely caring. Long wait, cramped hallways, extremely rude staff. When I was around 8 hours into my wait they said I should be grateful it wasn’t 24 hours, they as well were extremely dismissive to everything and genuinely did not care. I saw this ‘nurse’ give this old man a wheelchair to put himself on (he was already sitting on another chair) and just left him, ANOTHER patient had to step up and help the old man get on his wheelchair and when the nurse came back she was acting like nothing ever happened and avoided all accountability.
