Don’t follow stray holds or make efforts to reach out to local area vet offices to identify an animal. Don’t send animals to these monsters.

Does not follow its own rules and regulations regarding euthanasia. Euthanized an elderly dog going through end of life care THE DAY AFTER the animal control officer found her(she had slipped out the gate), even when they were in contact with the owners (who had been providing exceptional and loving care). They wouldn't tell the owners where the dog was, or in what state, or what vet she went to. The kicker is that they footed the owners with the euthanasia bill when they went to pick up their poor pups corpse. Absolutely sh... read more

No one should support ANY animal control that euthanizes dogs without an owners permission or even letting the owners know. Terrible people work here.

I reached out to Houston Co. Animal Control regarding the removal of a rattlesnake. Officer Smith arrived to retrieve the snake. He maintained the utmost professionalism and friendliness. Nor, did he hesitate to answer questions from inquisitive minds. Officer Smith was amazing! Thank you for saving the day!
