My husband and I were stuck between two different sizes of a coffee pot so he started googling which size would be good for what we need. A staff member then accosted him, claiming he’s not allowed to use Google in the store (there are no signs indicating this). He tried to explain that he just wanted to understand the sizing and instead of helping him, she doubled down. As other reviews have mentioned, the shop owner has a strange chip on their shoulder about customers using their phones in store. I thought they were making a bizarre joke when they said that googling was against their store policy—I assumed it was an unsuccessful attempt at being funny until I asked if they were serious. Unsurprisingly closing down, if you are a customer that is interested in discussing product features and comparisons you are abused and asked to leave. I am not the first person to write a review like this. I can not believe I walked in with a view to spend money in their shop, as I have many times before. Offensive attitudes and judgemental owners. They lost two customers because of it. I have just read two other reviews that ABSOLUTELY echo my experience! WOW! just WOW!
Can confirm the review from below as I just had the same experience. Apparently using your phone to research products and understand material options is offensive, but their abusive language to customers is acceptable? No wonder they’re closing down.
Great shop, just wish it had a website I could order from.
