The guy brenda was horrible. Very angry and did not want to answer any questions. I will never shop in a place that hires employees like Brendan. I recommend going anywhere but here.
I went to house of tropics to get my weekly pinkies and crickets for my son's reptiles. A guy outside offers my wife and kids two leopard geckos because there owner just died. We take the geckos a employee who just arrive there from the reptile expo in havrde grace. Lied said he had been there all day waiting for the guy and we were stealing. I think from now on I'm just going to get my stuff from the expo everymonth. That's were they get it from anyway.
Good selection of saltwater and freshwater fish. Not quite the most knowledgeable or honest staff and some fish were in bad shape. Quite overpriced and is hard to get someone to help you, you sort of make it seem like you are barging in by stopping an employee for help because you have been waiting so long. Piranha's had chunks of their backs missing from attacking eachother. They had pretty good looking discus however and my overall experience was good.
I am 30 miles away, and it is always my first choice. I have purchased 16 tanks from them and if they don't have what ever you want, they will let you know when they will have it.
I have been going to the House of Tropicals for a number of years. The staff are very nice an helpful an give you insite into what your looking for or what your pet needs! Chris in the reptile area is very polite an knowable in the care of the animals you have or are going to purchase.
