I had the most unpleasant and offensive experience today by the owner of the consignment store House of Style in Manasquan. I had seen a Louis Vuitton monogram bum bag behind the counter, I asked to see the bag and the price I was told $1800 when I asked the sales clerk for receipt or proof of authenticity she asked me to give the bag back and called the owner, Millie to the front of the store. So upset with my experience. Feel like I basically gave my designer bags away for free. Was told they’d sell for $50-$100 each. The highest priced item sold for $30.. some went for $10! I never would have gotten rid of my stuff for a $5 profit! I left sick to my stomach knowing my stuff is gone 🥴 Worst consignment experience ever!!
I left a few items there a month ago. I've been calling them for two weeks to see if anything sold. No one answers the phone and there is no answering machine. Terrible business practice!!
Sneaky owner who lies and deceives her Consignor’s. Don’t consign or shop at this establishment unless you like being ripped off!
**Consignors Beware** If you love consignment and making money for your merchandise then don’t bring it to the “house of style”! This is a shady unprofessional business where they randomly change prices and pocket the rest of your money! If you have brought your high-end designer items to this owner, then it is most likely being listed on a second-party website at a higher selling price.
