I would have done much more research on the true cost of a log cabin. The salesperson provided no information or estimates on additional cost we would face after the skeleton cabin was built. The caulking, bug protection, stain and finish is provided to the buyer, but was very expensive to have applied. Uncompleted walls are provided as 2X4 construction, to allow the Plumbing, electric, HVAC to be completed by your contractors. We found the utilities to be more expensive with a log cabin. Our log home dream started over 20 years ago. I researched several companies and was impressed with the long history of the company, the positive reviews and family story. We toured several of their models including the factory tour. The Sales Representatives were knowledgeable and accommodating. We worked with the design team and got our plans in a timely manner. The initial process has been nothing but headaches, excuses and outright lies. We paid our 50% deposit for the log package in January. After learning that the rep basically committed fraud and did not order the package until we got impatient and suspicious in May, we contacted the Company president through their chain of command so-to-speak.
