My Dad was living independently when in June last year he had a serious stroke at his home in Hobart. During his recovery he asked to moved back to Victoria with me, I made a call to Sea Views Manor and was able to get Dad in on arrival in Victoria. Dad was welcomed by Hailey and Lisa, and the wonderful staff made us both feel comfortable straight away. Dad very soon became at ease with all of his precious items around him. The Management in this facility are nothing short of incompetent, in particular Lisa Connell. She has acted against legal orders and continues to be extremely rude to family members, if she bothers to speak to them at all. The care my father receives is basic only. He has movement issues and after falling from his bed, he had to raise the alarm only after he 'came to' and then had to be taken to hospital. Family was NOT informed. My parents were Resistant to moving into a nursing home and after just 6 weeks now wax lyrical about Seaviews. Mum was VERY much "I'd rather die than move into a nursing home." Now she has shown me around and talked about wonderful food, activities she enjoys (even though when in respite care there she'd not joined in), the care of staff, the walks she enjoys in the area. Excellent service provided by nursing home. Cooperative staff,hygienic environment provided to the residents.
