My wife and I have been living at Thornton Place 1 year. We came here because we heard that the food here was very good. Well, it isn't, and it is worse than it was where were for 1- 1/2yrs. We pay $4000. per month, and I have to buy food at the market every week which averages $!00. ea week. We cannot continue to stay here unless you do something to improve the meals. HORRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE. Nothing EVER gets fixed !!! Mold in apartments , things broken I've been there for 2 years and things still haven't got fixed. Nothing ever get ordered. I would NEVER recommend someone to move in.
The location is very nice, lots of different floor plans to choose from. The management staff are very nice and available 24-7. It is a safe and secure place. The only down side is the food and the dining service, slow, with minimal choices , and the meals are frequently served cold. The toast is rarely toasted.
My mom became weak for an illness that made it impossible for her to live on her own. We put her into a highly rated retirement/independent living facilty only to find it was not as nice as they claimed. We visited several locations before landing at Ashford Court. It was older than the more expensive place she was at but wow what a breath of fresh air Ashford Court was compaered to all the places we had looked at. this company advertises as nice place to live. what they wont tell you is that once you sign on the line, your loved one will be charged for everything they do. they dont include every meal but will invite your loved one to breakfast, or lunch only to charge the additional fee towards rent. every employee has a master key to all residents apartments, including the barber or hair tech. THIS IS A HORRIBLE PLACE!!! DO NOT WORK HERE!! Or live here! This place doesn't even deserve one star! It's horrible! The place is dirty and unorganized! And the live in managers are just horrible! The food is bad as well. 0/10 would not recommend
Lived there for year, almost perfect living conditions, the help, management are super, food is good the quality great but does not include a steak or something you would go out to dinner for. It is somewhat costly. Steve Serdinsky
Coming from someone who worked for this company, I can tell you that you may want to look somewhere else when trying to find a safe place for your loved ones to be looked upon.The Manor @ Oakridge is expensive, which is fine when you think you're getting your money's worth. However, the Management hired to work here does NOT care about your loved ones, they are rude and often neglect the residents. They're even worse towards their employees. Do not let a loved one sign a contract with these people. They pushed and pushed and then when my 85 year old grief stricken mother changed her mind 3 days later and before she ever took possession of the non-handicap accessible apartment they said they are standing firm and they are taking her for a total of $9,000+ for a place she never moved in to.
