Adel Store, Beautiful old restaurant and gas station 85 miles from Denio, some 25 miles from Lakeview. It’s been close for a while, but soon opening.
Like walking into the past. An incredible experience and a magical place. Makes you wander back into a time that we will only ever imagine. Please don't loot, vandalize or damage this historical monument.
It is important to know details of David Shirks life in this area of Oregon. First his cattle ranch in the Catlow valley. Second his feud with Peter French of the FrenchGlen fame about his wife. Third his love for fine horses. He really only lived here at Shirk Ranch for no more than 4 years. He did have a horse operation here for many years more. I think it was his wife and maybe his daughter Olive who loved this place and the horse’s. He also “escaped” here after the skirmish with Peter French and the death of his foreman.... read more
