I just want to say that Rick was great. However the rental car provided was a 2009, incredibly dated and worn and the tire light was on. Car had crank windows and the doors did not have power locks which was really inconvenient. Unsure why we got a really old car but It was really an off putting experience when trying to support local businesses.
Were so glad we found this place. Last minute we decided to drive to the volcanos. He had a van for all 8 of us and made it happen. Got there just in time to witness the eruption. Van was clean and ran great.
Great doing business with him! Huge selection of cars. Will certainly have the car you need at very reasonably prices.
Let's be real, you need a car, close to port, clean inside, drives and the people running it are friendly... This is it. It's 2 mins from the port gates, turn right and start counting down, it's about '690' when you get out and turn right...you can't miss 595. The people are super nice, we rented 2x with one of them being the day before as our itinerary had changed last min...they were more than happy to help us and our friend (2 vehicles) and only charged us an extra $10 for the last minute scramble. We rented from Hilo Auto for a 16 day trip recently. All parts of the process went smoothly from the pick up at the airport to the drop off days later. The car was clean and worked well for our needs. Renting from a local company is something we try to do. We highly recommend this place and will definitely rent from them again if we return.
