Unfortunately I spent my last two years of high school at Hillcrest. The education is not only partial but discourages students from developing their own thoughts. The teachers at this school will teach your kids what they want them to think, not how to think on their own. There are also certain staff members who have shown favoritism and mild discrimination towards students. Only very specific kids do well at this school, but neither the social nor the academic environment is healthy for anyone.
Attended high school and lived in the dorm at HLA Sophomore thru Senior year. Those three years were collectively one of the most transformative and impactful experiences of my life, especially from a faith perspective. Caring and deeply committed Christian staff/faculty/administration who regularly challenged me to live out my faith daily, not just on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. Good Christ-centered and high quality education. Given the limitations of a small school, there are many opportunities in sports, arts, and academics with many sports teams, worship teams, bands, choirs, a few AP classes, numerous college and online class, and many teachers with gifts and talents they'd love to share if a specific program is not offered.
