Highland Tropical has been open since 1984 and specializes in exotic birds and tropical fish. We also have a great selection of reptiles. Our friendly staff is extremely knowledgeable and together have over a 100 years of experience. In our bird department we have everything from finches on up to macaws. As for our fish department we have over 100 fish tanks consisting of community fish, African cichlids and south American cichlids. Come on in today and check us out!!

This is one of the BEST pet stores i have ever been to! I wish they would open one closer to me!:)
Great for birds, but the live fish stock is poor and overpriced – Highland Tropical is split into two sides, left for birds (lots to offer) and right for fish, they stock parts for most equipment and have many tanks of freshwater fish to choose from but their cichlid tanks are stocked with some poor representation of the species and pricing is way out of whack, many tanks with multiple species not listed price wise and those that are listed many are marked as "RARE" with prices that easily double other local stores. Don't Shop Anywhere Else For A Bird But Here!!! – My family has bought two birds from this place. We bought our first one about 15 years ago. This bird was precious! The nicest bird! When we went to the store we told them what we were looking for ( a family bird) We saw birds we thought were pretty and they told us honestly that if we wanted a "family" bird that the bird we were looking at may not be the best choice due to it needing a lot of work to train. The best place for birds! – If you are interested in getting a pet bird, this is the place to go. Rhonda was very patient with me while I picked out my "perfect" bird. She was ready to answer any questions and offer helpful advice. She is very knowledgeable and truly cares about the birds they sell. The best place to buy a bird!! – This place is honestly the best place you could ever by a bird. The lady teaches you how to train, and get close to the bird, unlike my previous experience at other stores. They are honestly the perfect place to get one. They have everything you need, and the answers to any of your questions.
