My first experience with High Balsam Farm was attending their Flower Bar Bouquet Making event. The owners warmly welcomed me and my group. Their enthusiasm to share their lovely farm was infectious as they walked us through their journey of building it over the last few years. I had such a lovely morning at the spring farm tour. Being there opened me up to the world of gardening in a way I didn't expect. The mushroom setup especially fascinating. Beth is incredibly knowledable and you can tell how passionate she is by the way she explained everything so clearly.
What a fun morning and a great excursion while still being in Denver! The history on the mushrooms was fascinating, roaming around the property and seeing what a super place they have developed and run was really fun---for people of all ages. What a grand morning. Visit them! Sally Kurtzman
I took a tour of the farm and was very impressed by the quality of the mushrooms and dahlias - and the dedication of the farmers. The setting for the stay-over cabins is glorious - natural and peaceful. Beth and Rob are gracious hosts. So close to Denver - and a few hours spent there felt like a week in nature ! It was a joy to see them at the South Pearl Street Farmers Market, too.
Very fun tour and experience. Beth was very knowledgeable and explained the process of mushroom farming and of course her gorgeous flowers. The lab grown mushrooms and process was especially amazing to witness. I handpicked my mushrooms which were beautiful and bountiful! My family Loved the Italian mushroom I sautéed for dinner that night - delicious!!! The flower arrangements were lovely and unique. Also, I know the dahlias will be beautiful when ready to bloom.
