Interesting place with unusual antiques, a talented artist who knows a lot about caning furniture.
I inherited the dining room table and chairs that my grandparents received as a wedding gift about 100 years ago. All of the rushed chair seats were completely rotted out with large holes and loose straps. I took them to Higgins Chair Caning to be repaired. She re-did the rushing and all of the chairs are now beautiful and usable again! She does incredibly beautiful work. After examination and photos, Alice agreed to re-cane two refinished sitting chairs. After 4 months she contacted me again to tell me she could not complete the work to her satisfaction and returned the chairs to me unfinished. I'm happy she did not return them with poor work (3 stars for that), but did not receive the service I expected.
Alice did a great job on this antique hickory rocker that needed complete recaning. She was prompt and completed the job ahead of schedule. The quality of her work was outstanding. The price was fair for the required work. HIghly recommended! Thanks Alice!!
